Consider this page your personal program of all the characters in the ongoing saga of Tenor Hot.

Background: Tenor Hot/Austin is a scam artist in Nigeria. He sent out blind emails alleging that he was raising money for a children's choir group. One of the emails fell into the hands of the scam-baiters at 419eater.com. When scam-baiter "Fungus" of Scotland encountered Austin, he told the con-man that he was a minister in the United States ready to donate a large sum of money, provided Austin record a special song. You can hear our interview with "Fungus" here for the complete story. Fungus was kind enough to provide us with Austin's contact information, and now The Molson & Lee Show is involved, posing as GoosedUpProductions.

Hi Austin,

Been a while but I haven't forgotten you. How's the malaria, hope you haven't had anymore attacks.

I've been in touch with Mickey Silverstein of GoosedUpProductions, I'm sure you know them, here's their website http://www.coolgoose.com/sites/msilverstein/index.html

Mickey got a copy of that Eater Eater song I circulated and is really impressed. He wants to speak to you about a recording deal so I gave him your e-mail address and telephone number. Remember to let me know how negotiations are going and remember my 10% .

Alan

Austin,

You've got that special something that the music world needs. May I introduce myself, I am Mickey Silverstein of GoosedUpProductions.

My long time friend, Alan, shared with me an infectious little song called "Eater Eater." My friend, I have been in the music business since I was 12, and never in my travels have I heard a song that is so compelling and filled with pure spirit.

I would like to know what it would take to make you a part of the GoosedUp family of artists.

Naturally, Alan would get his standard 10%. However, the last artist we signed, 2Grimey4U, made $14mil in his first year.

Of course, there are no guarantees... but, I think you have that special something. You have a certain kind of schtickle... that's Yiddish for oomph.

Please contact me soon so we can discuss.

Sincerely,

Mickey Silverstein

Dear Mickey,

It's really nice knowing someone like you. I was glad when i read your mail. It was so interesting. Allan has been so good and understanding to and he is my manager.

I'm Augustine Ese Akpokighe and my stage name is TENOR HOT. I was born 12th of august, 1975 in Nigeria. I'm from a very poor home and i lost my dad november 1995. I have been into music since 1992 but no album yet. I perform in church programmes clubs to touch lives. My kind of music is good for every life and i'm sure of this. I sing songs to reflect immorality in our sociey and let people now about God. I'm into reggae music and don't be confused about my name Augustine and Austin. In Nigeria we use Austin as a short form of Augustine.

I have promised Allan long ago to send him another song other than that EATER, EATER so, he can secure a record deal for me. But up till now i've not been able to do that due to my poor financial background. I have good songs that can hit the international market. It's just that i've not been able to send him something to convince him of this due to my financial condition.

I'm ready to be a part of your music crew. Mickey, make we run things. Hope to hear from you soonest......Austin.

Tenor Hot... love the name! Great name! You've got skills that you don't even know about, my good friend.

Listen, there's something here... I don't know what it is, but there's something brewing. I haven't had this feeling since Neil Flatbush released "Flatbush Alive!" in 1978.

Alan gave me your number... I think we need to talk

June 14
Mickey calls Tenor Hot on the phone to for a chat.
(To Alan Waters)

Dear Broda,

I was glad to hear from Mickey last night. He called and told me that a show is coming up at the end of july 2005 in one of the state in U.S and i'm going to be with his record lebel. I even did something for him online. I did one my song for him. I hope to hear from both of you soon One love....Austin

Dear Tenor,

You are probably familiar with the Musician Artists of America, and their annual convention in Nashville each year. This year's convention is at the end of July. I am presently putting together a portfolio of new artists who I want to debut. I typically take 5 new acts to present... so far I only have 4. I think Tenor Hot needs to be number 5. I really would like to talk to you about this. Send me your phone number.

This could be big, baby. Also, would you consider changing your name from Tenor Hot to Tenor Hott?

Thanks,

Mickey

Mickey,

I was glad to speak with you last night. I'm happy to be a member of the coolgools family. I'm very sorry that you don't understand what i was saying in the song because it was written in my own kind of langauge [PIDGIN ENGLISH AND URHOBO LANGAUGE ] This is our own native English just like the Jamaica patio. We have the queen's English as officail langauge and appart from that we still have other native langauges.

The tittle of that song is BACKBITERS. It's like i was hearing some brethrens in the back ground when you were speaking with me that night. Are they artiste too? I will really like us to see face to face and talk so you can see more of me. That show you are telling me about, coming up end of July. It a gwaan be a bum shark attack. I'm sturming there inna roughed man style. My phone number is ; +234xxxxxxxxxx. This is the one you used in calling me last night. If you want me to change the name TENOR HOT to TENOR HOTT there will be a little problem because it will affect my PERFORMING MUSICIANS AND EMPLOYERS ASSOCIATION [ P.M.A.N] certificate. I have already registered as TENOR HOT. If you insist i will do, but it means i have to under go another process to change it and that will cost me some money and time. Hope to hear from you soonest. One love and respec to all the I dem...

Tenor,

Thank you for writing. I really feel like we hit it off when we spoke on the phone. The song was beautiful, and even though I don't know the language, the language of music is universal. I would love to see the lyrics sometime, if you are able to send them to me.

Regarding the name... Let's not worry about it now. We have bigger things we need to do at this point.

Regarding the convention in Nashville in July - if you can make it, that would be unbelievable!! I typically bring CDs of original music to showcase to the executives, but if Tenor Hot was there - - WOW!!!

The executives that are in attendance are from our music video television stations and the largest radio stations in the United States. Simply put, if they aren't interested - we don't have a hit. So, getting the right music into their hands is very very important.

Not to boast, but I've been at this for over 40 years - so I know how to work these people pretty well and I know what they like to hear.

Thank you for the picture. If possible, I might need something that shows you are part of the GoosedUpProductions family. Some kind of signage, you know what I mean? I know this is kind of difficult with the great distance between us - but, time is tight.

If you can think of a way you can have somebody snap a picture of you, I can send you our GoosedUp logo, and maybe you can hold it or stick it to the wall behind you or something like that. Just a little thing our marketing department insists on. Think about it, and I'll get you the image - - if it's not too much trouble. I know I'm asking a big favor... let me know what you think.

I am very lucky you trust me. In the United States, gentlemen know when we can trust each other by a handshake. If my hands could reach that far, I would shake yours today, Tenor. I really feel good about this.

Mickey S

Brotherly,

Thanks for your mail. I head what you said, you can send the logo. There's one thing i thought of. If i'm going to participate in that show you told me about at the end of july next month, do you think time is on our side? Because you have to send me a prepared invitation, for me to get a visa from embassy. And that will take some time. what are the plans now just give the load down of everything. Meanwhile send me the logo. hope to hear from you soon. If you want to call me always call me around that time that you called. the network is a little bit okay then in Nigeria. Because some times the Nigeria communication network is very bad here. looking forward to hearing from you....Tenor Hot.

Tenor Hot received this logo in the email

Greetings Mickey,

How are you doing today and all the family? I know is well in Jesus name. I' very sorry your calls didn't go through yesternight. I knew it was you that were trying to call. My phone rang and cut twice. The network here can be so poor sometimes, why sometimes it used to be very good and efficient.

I got an e-mail from Joe containning the logo, so i have started working on it already. Soon it shall be ready and i will send it immediately it is ready.

One luv,

Tenor Hot.

Hello Tenor,

I hope you are having a great weekend. Sorry we were unable to connect on Friday. I do appreciate, and respect your opinion on one of my other artists.

I wanted to tell you that I am working right now with a lyricist and a musician, and I think I may have a project for you soon. This could be key in getting the attention of radio stations in the United States, I feel strongly this could be good for you.

I will be in touch soon.

Mickey

Beloved,

How are you today and the family? I know everyone is fine because Jah is in control. I was glad to hear from you that afternoon. you were saying something about a microphone, that i couldn't really understand very well due to poor quality of the network, it was fluctuating. And you know i told you i'm working on a song but not in the studio. just trying to complet a lyric. Apart from BACKBITERS i have other songs. How many songs will you really want me to compile for my first recording? Let me know so that i'll put things together. When next you call i'm going to do something for you online.

My kind of reggae is not root rock, no vamping of guitar. It's just dance hall but slow type like Cocoa Tea, Tony Tuff. I think you will like that pic the way it is. One luv

Tenor Hot

Thanks for the pic... seems kind of unusual that you are sitting on a cartoon chair.

I guess I can make this work... but, if you can simply print out the logo and have somebody take the picture with you holding it, that would be ideal.

Let me know your thoughts.

Mickey

Mickey,

Thanks for your call yesterday. I am only humble and simple but i'm not a fool and not a mad man. I thought maybe it a serious business but i was supprised to hear someone insulting me from the background yesterday. Infact i didn't know what that was all about.

I have already told you about our poor telephone network in Nigeria. I find it difficult to hear all your words sometimes and that is why you get answers that are different from what you need . It's not my fault.

I'm a little bit confused about the whole thing. You told me i was going to do a song for somebody in the United States. You promised to send me the lyric . And with this you will be able to raise some money for me to record my demo. I know, nothing goes for nothing.

I don't really understand, do you want me to come over to the United State and do it or you want me to put it together, record and send it back to you? You also said you don't need my demo. for now or what? I was thinking maybe you need it urjently and that is why i requested for assistance so i can record it and send to you ontime. Since you don't need it no problem. I've taken a decision to record it on my own as soon as i am able to raise some money.

Also let me know if i'm a meber of the gooseup production. One luv, this is my mind for everyone. But i was supprised to someone calling me a mad man. I felt bad about it.

Tenor Hot.
Tenor, my dear friend...

This is obviously a misunderstanding.

When you asked that I call you back in 10 minutes yesterday... I telephoned you from one of our state of the art recording studios here at the company. I wanted everybody in the building to hear this Tenor Hot that I've been telling them so much about. The room was filled with some of my most respected collegues at my company... and let me tell you... ... it was unanimous. You've got something special. Everybody was amazed with what they heard coming out of the telephone.

If you heard other voices, it may have been the IFB monitor in the master control room. Perhaps one of the engineers keyed the mic and it fed down the phone line. Whatever you heard was just them talking back and forth in the control room... they couldn't hear you, so I don't know what they were talking about.

Are you a memeber of GoosedUp Productions?? I'm shocked you would ask such a thing after all we've been through together. Maybe you haven't visited our webpage lately (http://www.coolgoose.com/sites/msilverstein/) but, there's that beautiful face of yours right on the front page. I hope you don't mind me using the picture you sent, I was anxious to get something up there.

Sincerely, my good friend... let me say this to you: You are able to trust me just as much as I am able to trust you.

Have a peaceful day, Tenor...

Mickey

A somewhat nerveous Tenor Hot confides in his manager, Alan Waters
Mickey has been calling me all this while. He always ask me to do
something for him online. I thought maybe he was going to assist me
with somemoney to record a demo and send to him because he insisted on
that so much, untill recently when he told me that i'll be doing a song
for some one overthere so we can raise some money for my demo. I don't
really know how serious is this guy. I don't know why i have not heard
from you all this while. Maybe you have been busy. Hope to hear from
you ....Austin
Alan writes Tenor Hot and assures him that Mickey Silverstein is on the up-and-up which is satisfactory for Mr. Hot.
Tenor!

Great news... Here are the lyrics and the agreement from Charlie Mastadoon. He says you start singing right after you hear the voice in the music bed go "HEAYY" It's pronounced Mole Son and Lee Best of luck! I'll call you later.

Mickey

Meet Charlie Mastadoon.  Chief Production Director for the Delta Broadcasting Network.
Mickey,

Per our agreement, upon receipt of the recording we will forward Mr. Hot $2500.00 (US) via Western Union.
We have also agreed that if Mr. Hot sends an accompanying video there would be an additional sum of $12,000 (US).

Here are the lyrics to the song, as well as the music track:

Respek Mickey,

Thanks for the lyrics and the agreement. I accepted the agreement. I have printed the lyrics out for arrangement and fix inn a nice chorus. It's going to be done in my own style of music [Reggae] I promise, you're going to like it. I must do my company proud. Let's see if i can cover the recording. If that is possible i'll send the video along. But let me think of how to raise somemoney fast. I'm looking up to Jah, with him all things are possible.

If possible i'm going to shoot the video in the studio when recording. But i don't think there will be money to mix it immidiately. Can i send it like that ? or should i send the audio first and after i've been paid for that, i can get some money to mix it proparely before sending it? Please let me know.

Thank you very much Mickey you are a brother. One luv.

TENOR HOT.

Hello Tenor,

Mickey forwarded me your question.  My name is Charlie Mastadoon, I work with Delta Broadcasting Network, which controls 345 Television stations across the United States and Canada.  We will be the ones who are funding this project.
First, let me say that I am absolutely delighted to have you putting this project together for us.  When Mickey contacted me and played the audio of you singing "Eater Eater" I knew that you were the voice we needed.  I am greatful that Alan Waters has been shopping such a great talent around.
Regarding your question, here is what we would be willing to accept:

If you can send us the completed audio of the Mole Son Li theme song we can have GoosedUpProductions mix it with the raw video.  We certainly don't expect you to do all that work!

So, if you are planning on having a camera running while you are in the recording studio, just send us the completed audio, and we will mix it with the video at GoosedUp.  Naturally, you will receive a copy of the completed video when it is completed.
Thank you for being a part of this major project!
